How the numbers are calculated

This page lists, plainly, the criteria the app uses to score a meal, a day and a packaged product. They are here so that anyone can see where each number comes from.

What this is NOT. These are editorial criteria of Regenera Clinic, not a clinical measurement and not a diagnosis. None of these numbers measures a biological quantity, and none replaces the assessment of a healthcare professional. Regenera Clinic Delta is a wellbeing service: it does not diagnose, does not treat and does not replace your doctor.

1. A meal's score

Every meal starts at 100 and loses points according to how it is built, not how much is eaten. Calories and macronutrients are not counted at any point.

CriterionDeducts
Protein and carbohydrate in the same sitting40
Simple carbohydrates30
Starch above your own frequency over the last 7 days30
Fruit or sugar dessert25
Any carbohydrate at dinner25
Ultra-processed product (NOVA 4)25
Processed product (NOVA 3)10

Starch frequency is measured against your own seven-day history, not against an external table. After a strength or cardio workout of 45 minutes or more, and for the following 4 hours, the first two deductions are suspended and the app says so.

2. The day's score

The day does not count meals: it measures whether you covered a few bases. Each base contributes its weight, and the total softens the average of your meal scores.

BaseWeight
At least one meal with animal protein0.30
Spread across two sittings or more0.35
At least one meal with vegetables0.20
At least one meal with healthy fat0.15

Floor: 0.40. Coverage softens the score, it never sinks it to zero: even with no base covered, the day keeps 40 % of the average of your plates.

The weight given to spreading it out (0.35) is why a single meal, however good, does not reach green: one sitting does not represent a day.

3. A packaged product's score

When you scan a barcode, the 0-100 score combines three components with these weights:

ComponentWeightWhere it comes from
Nutrition55 %Nutri-Score (A→100, B→75, C→50, D→25, E→0)
Additives30 %The worst colour among the product's additives (green→100, amber→50, red→0)
Processing15 %NOVA (1→100, 2→75, 3→40, 4→0)

Product data comes from Open Food Facts, an open collaborative database. The only thing that leaves your phone when you scan is the barcode: not your identity, not your history, not any data of yours.

If the product has no Nutri-Score or NOVA in that database, the app does not invent a score: it says it doesn't have one.

4. Three rules of honesty

5. Healthspan is calculated separately

The Healthspan number does not come from these weights: it has its own method, published at How we calculate your Healthspan. This page covers food: the plate, the day and the packaged product.

6. Who writes these criteria

They are written by the medical direction of Regenera Clinic, a real clinic in Barcelona. The coverage weights and the floor were validated by Dr. Vilà on 27 July 2026; the post-workout window, on 10 September 2026.

They are house criteria, open to revision. They are not a clinical measurement, they do not constitute a diagnosis and they do not claim any effect on health.
